Having all met in the small New England town of Somerset, Sun Of Sound has been friends since their adolescent years. Some members, even before that. Having played music together both in and out of school, SOS has deep roots. In March 2010, Sun Of Sound came to be when front man, Randy Medina AKA Solace, approached the other members with the idea to start what they would soon call a "post hip hop" group. The idea was to take all the genres of music they grew up with and loved and deliver them within a live hip hop band framework. With influences ranging from classic and progressive rock to funk and jazz, Sun Of Sound began shaping a very unique style.

They began opening for national acts ranging from Talib Kweli and KRS-One to Hollywood Undead and Thomas Pridgen. In 2012, they released their first LP POST HIP HOP, recorded with Scott Reibling with some work by Jay Deluca and Joe Mabbott. In the fall of 2013 the band ventured to Minneapolis, MN to record their second LP Good Days with Joe Mabbott of The Hideaway Studio which has just been released.
